Default Some basic queries about PMS officers.

Dear forum members, i have some basic queries about pms, i hope seniors will respond.

1) Does pms officers get separate, well furnished office?
2) Are they respected by police or the latter deal them like other civilians i.e., lecturer, a.d welfare or population etc?
3) Are they given official protocol i.e., guard and vehicle?
4) Are police officers (low rank) to salute them when pms officer introduce him/herslf before them?
5)Are they allocated residence facility soon after their training?

Guess you forgot to ask about what happens when you get killed in the line of duty?

Depends upon place of posting, some time well furnished, some time so so and even at some time at secretariat posting may have bad room or have to share with some other officer.

In our country the policing culture is legacy of British colonial system where they were taken as a striking force to pressurize the subjects of colony. They usually do not have a positive attitude towards others... Sorry to say there will not be much respect unless the officer is having good links or he is posted on some administrative post like Dy District Officer/Assistant Commissioner /Asstt Political Agent etc!

Sorry to say usually they do not get protocol unless they get some good administrative post. Protocol is usually followed much in forces / organizations
where discipline is considered much like Army, PAF, Navy, Police, FC, ANF, Rangers, and other security agencies etc. Vehicles also depend upon place of posting /nature of job/responsibilities.

Nope, police officials are not supposed to salute PMS officer. Why will they do? They are to salute their own officers/seniors and not others . Though they can give them some respect being officers of the government but one should not expect these things..............

It depends upon the availability of official residences, seniority of officer and perhaps to some extent links/manipulations

First of all thanks for your kind reply sir. Secondly, if this is so (your answers), than why pms is considered as a prestigous job? It is evident (from your answers) that there is no difference between a pms officer and an ordinary a.d or lecturer.
I was expecting it some thing extra ordinary.

Dear if you want to have some protocol sort of things, formalities, taeka etc thn there may not be much in the service..........., however, there is lot of prestige, status and some nuisance related to a PMS officer. After all it is Provincial Management Service.

Prestige is directly linked with responsibilities not perks and privileges. To be honest, it is not a good choice to have PMS/CSS as your only option because you've greater responsibilities and therefore tough "Hisab Kitab" on the day of judgement.
