إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون
Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Elaihe Raji'oon. AoA, Demise of your father is really a sad news and I can understand your feelings at this point of time. Life is like this. We are destined to move in that way. We come, spend time and then have to go someday. And that someday is already fixed and we cannot cancel it nor defer it, because its explicitly narrated in Quran that every living being has to face the altar of death! But what is more important is his next phase. His next phase is linked to you as well, what you do, how do you spend your time and what you send him out of generosity. It is narrated from Prophet Muhammad PBUH that a man carries nothing to next world but his good deeds. A sahabi r.a. asked, ya Rasool Allah SAW he is dead now so his good deeds are also ended? Prophet Muhammad PBUH replied, no, he might had done some things in this world which can keep adding upto his good deeds and one of such thing is Naik and Saleh Aulad. YOu can be a pious and noble person to keep sending him good deeds... My father passed away at wee hours of (0330 hours) of June 30, 2003 . It was Monday. He had liver issues and his time for transplantation was lapsed before the actual diagnosis of his disease. I can still remember 90% of the events on my finger tips. Its natural, somethings are linked to RAM of our mind. May be after six months, on one fine afternoon, I came across a colleague -Urfan from Ugi Mansehra- of my father in compound of mosque. He talked shop and kept my hand in his hand after hand shake and told me my father was a very good man. At that time, that Mr. Urfan said his father passed away when he was in his teens and said that its cycle of life. He gave me an advice. He said I can do a favour to my father, I was listening to his trembling voice, he contrinued, that I can offer two nafal of maghfarat for him at least in a week or per day with some namaz. He said, say with Zuhar or with Juma namaz. A good tip, I murmurred. He kept saying, this is not favour to him only, this is favour to you as well! It will be written in your good deeds also, he explained. I never met that old man after 2008, but I still remember his advice. Is'nt it a good piece of advice.? I must advice the same to you. Its not too difficult. ..! It is said that there are certain things from father to son. It mean some things are carried to generations. Although I hav'nt met you nor met with your father, but I feel he must be a good man. I feel, he had been attached with certain religious (spirtual) things as well as fond of travelling, so you are. To be honest, I -alongwith my siblings- also got certain traditions from my father. For example, adventurism, intellectualism, patriotism, optimism, to some extent egotism etc. You may like to carry with those traditions and also try to keep in contact/friendship with friends of your father. Its a good thing as well. May Allah Almighty bless soul of your father with a high position in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience to you and your family. Have good time and stay blessed. With kind Regards TSA
