Lightbulb IT Park in Lahore to generate economic activity of Rs 9 billion a year!!!

Strengthening the Information Technology (IT) sector is the government’s priority and a number of large IT projects including a Software Technology Park, an Internet City and the computerisation of land record were being implemented at a cost of about Rs 7 billion, said Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. According to a press release on Tuesday, he was presiding over a meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) at Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The chief minister said the software technology park being set up in Lahore would generate economic activity worth about Rs 9 billion a year. The project would also create a large number of jobs to computer science graduates, software developers, network engineers, management graduates and thousands of people associated with IT, he said. Facilities at the site would meet international standards, he said, and it would attract large foreign investment. Business process outsourcing, telemedicine and call centres would be set up in the park, he said, which would promote international business. Elahi said that optimum use of information technology would help enhance the capacity of government departments, modernisation of the educational system and an increase in the pace of social development. Use of information technology would ensure transparency in government systems and improve the standard of financial management of provincial departments, he said. A programme of computer education to government servants was being implemented in the province, he said, and thousands of government employees had been trained already. The computerisation of the system of Punjab Highway Patrol Posts would help curb crime and improve the monitoring of the performance of patrol posts, he said, and the computerisation of land revenue record would ensure transparency. So Say bye To Patwarii system;-)..Hope this project meet completion:-)
