Masters in Human Resource Management ( MS HRM)
 

Hi,

I applied for Masters in Human Resource Management at NUST. My cgpa is very low, 2.05 but my GAT score is 80. Do I have a chance of admission? Also, I would like to know the closing aggregate of MS HRM last year if anyone knows.

Back in the days gat score had 50 percent weightage in admission criteria, so yes 80 is an excellent score all things considered
I also had a very low gpa and got into nbs easily

It still has 50 percent weightage bro. What field did you get in and what was your merit number and gpa in bachelors and GAT score along with the year you applied.. will help me calculate my chances. thanks in advance

Knowing my scores will only confuse you and not give you exact idea, because every year competition is different and i appeared half a decade ago
But generally speaking i had same situation as yours, low gpa, high gat score, in the end merit was in top fifteen for mba
But the main reason I don’t want to discuss my own stats is that mba from nust does not land any good job, so in my case it was a lost cause (i am still jobless). And the only reason i did mba was because i really wanted a job
Same the case with engineers

Btw do you think Masters in HRM is a good field in job perspective. I am an electrical engineer like you bro but in my 2nd year I realized that I had a a lot of interest and scope for HRM but I completed my bachelors in engineering for my parents. Now, I am going for HRM for myself but I dont really know if it will get me a decent job or not ( I am going for HRM for job just like you went for MBA for job bro)

Its about personal choice: if you are interested in multinationals companies then nust masters (hrm/mba) will not land you anywhere
If you have good sifarish then from where you have done degree will not matter to a large extent and suddenly nust/fast will be considered excellent (not because they are good universities but because you had big pawa sifarish)
If you want a job in non-multinational or startup, then you will definitely land somewhere
Now don't get me started on salaries, that is whole another science

I can only tell you about scope of fast and nust, and engineering and mba especially since i live in twin cities (hrm is a specialised feild, plus i also don't know if you plan to move abroad after masters)

Btw dont ever rely on any teachers regarding job prospects, thats how we get misguided, no teacher will tell you drawbacks of their degree programs
According to Pak engineering council chairman (javed sahab) a good 50,000 to 60,000 engineers are unemployed right now (he has given these numbers in interview to private news channels himself, you can google his interviews on google/youtube)
Yet if you go to an engineering school for admissions they will woo you with all the wonderful possibilities ahead.
You being an engineer know hiw much these fake promises can hurt us students

One very important thing worth mentioning, i am always very hesitant when it comes to advising youngsters, because bad advices lead me to me being jobless for half a decade. So in the end you need to research all angles and dimensions before making any decisions
