M.A English polishes one's written skills and it is helpful for competitive exams. Moreover being a boy,you should continue with your commerce field as English is not a good choice for a male who will have to run a family.Lecturership is not easy to get.baqi jo ap ko munasib lagay,wo kijiye.
I'm not sure but I think you are not eligible to get admission as a regular student.meray mohtaat andazay k mutabiq, you can appear in private exam.

P.S If you are really interested in English literature,do it as an additional M.A,your main focus should be that field which can give you good earning.

Mr.Adnan i agree with Farrah.first of all thing is you should be focused on your master's digree in commerce after that if you are willing for M.A English then go for it but you can't continue both at the same time.hope you understand.

I did MA ENGLISH ( Literature & Linguistics) after B.COM,,, but before started MA ENG, i was in the middle of MBA (3rd Semester), i carried studies of MBA & MA ENGLISH parallel & it was really hard for me to met the challenge to complete both Masters Degrees but By the Grace of Allah i did it...

I suggest you to go for MBA or M.COM & then along with that go for MA ENGLISH. It will not only help you to improve your written expressions but also help you to broaden the horizon as well.

As far as job regarding MA ENG is concern,,, there is no scope except teaching & content writing,,, but when you mentioned MA ENG along with any other Masters Degree in your resume,, it reflect your diversification & also give extra edge to get good job among other candidates.

afzaliffi will become famous soon enough
Red face Little knowledge is dangerous thing......

@jUNAID
it is HEC new policy that u can't get 2 Master degrees in same duration. after passing both, one of them will be canceled by HEC.
same thng has hapened with my friend. he got a notice from HEC to tell them which degree he wanted to be canceled. after submission of his answer his MA Arabic degree was canceled by HEC.

MOREover, now a days, MA Englsih Linguistic carries much weight than MA English Literature as Linguistic candidate is preferred.
but the matter of interest is another thing.

@ Afzal...

It's HEC policy that there should be 1 year gap between 2 Masters Degrees duration,, means if a student cleared 1st year and resume 2nd year studies, then he is fulfilling criteria for 2nd Masters degrees, My both Masters Degrees are HEC attested.

They ask a lot of question about literature. Mostly they listen English Poetry.
I had a worst experience of interview for the post of AD(LDA), interview panel ne aisay aisay poets k names liyay meray samnay ju me ne aj tak nahin sunay thay. England me agar kisi ne kisi local writer ki koi book parh li ha by chance, ju famous bhi nahin ha, but he insist k MA English walay ne bhi wo book lazmi parhi honi chahya.

dear, m.a. English literature deals with the history of English language, how was it developed, who contributed, what is drama, fiction, poetry, and e.t.c. it is of two years.

m.a. English linguistics is the study of the spoken English language, its pronunciation, teaching methodology, and practices. so both degrees supplement each other. having both degrees will really give you great distinction . one important thing that after m.a. English in literature. m.a English linguistics is of one year, so it will take only three year to complete m.a English literature and linguistics.
