What Should I do? I am MBA (Finance)
AoA Dear All, I did MBA (Finance) with 3.46 CGPA in 2010 and I am an average Student. I have being gone through CSS Exams in 2012 as well. Unfortunately, I could'nt pass it but I learned lots of things regarding study techniques that how to grasp things etc. I am of the Opinion that MBA is a general degree and every 2nd person have this degree therefore, it has lost its value. With the grace of Almighty Allah I have been working in Capital Development Authority (CDA) as a Statistical Assistant, since July, 2012. Now I want to study further. Thats why I am seeking Expert opinion of Finance graduates / Seniors to kindly direct me that, what I should do as I have already done MBA Finance from NUML, Islamabad. An early response in this matter will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Going for CFA is quite high hope from an MBA(NUML), lets see what other options you do have? Ae s MBA is smartest degree, where you not just learn Finance, but accounting, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Accounting as well.
- Apply for Scholarships for Higher studies as you have 16 years of education and you can pursue studies for PhD abroad. - FPSC/PCS Exams for MBA graduates in different positions. - You can apply for Lecturer position in any university/college as they pay fair salary and you can continue higher studies at Islamabad/Lahore. - Test your finance skills before going for CFA Exam as it requires huge study and understanding with quite high fees for exam. - Statistical Assitants, after few years of experience or very soon you can apply for any upcoming jobs in National/Internatonal NGOS, i.e. USAID and UN projects, they pay quite good salaries and MBA graduates can make their place. Regards,

1- Institutes 2- Fee Structure 3- Level of Studies 4- Duration Quote:
Fee is not a problem for me (specially for my dad) He always urge me to DO MORE, DO MORE If a get good faculty, then I can do anything (If I make my mind) But it is too hard for me to study by my own-self. In my case, Institute & Faculty matters a lot |

There are total three levels of a CFA program. Level I is composed of multiple choice questions only. Level II is composed of item set questions whereas level III is composed of both essay and item set questions. Exams held twice a year i.e in June and Dec. It takes average 3 to 4 years to complete all three levels. Most candidates always fail one section of the CFA examination before the program is completed. That is a big investment of time and energy. Fee structure varies from year to year. I guess you will have to pay around $1000 for registration, ebook, print bundle etc. As far as your query regarding institute is concerned so I would say there are few good institutes in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi offering coaching for CFA like SBM. But only coaching wouldn't be enough. You have to study and practice on your own too. Last edited by Z Bokhari; Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 05:29 PM. Reason: merged |

Tamxhah, would you like to suggest any other option in evening time?

CFA is very difficult............ You may go for ACMA as evening classes are offered and there is exemption for many subjects to MBA's as well.........
In the mean while , you should search for a better job which relate your job skills to the study courses which are taken by you.........

What about PIPFA? I heard that it is very useful for Govt. employees. Is it true or not?

But the market for CFA,if its even there in Pakistan,is mostly based in Karachi. For public sector in Pakistan ACMA is most suited as ICMA helps its members in getting decent jobs. |
