M.A/M.Sc Sociology

Asslam U Alaikum. I am a B.A. student in my final year. I am completely at a loss what to do next after graduation. I have a keen interest in doing M.A/M.Sc in I.R. "international relations" but some of my friends are suggesting me to do something else which can give me a wide range of chances of job in case I do not qualify CSS, as CSS is a game. Therefore I have made up my mind to do my masters in Sociology. The senior members are requested to throw the light on the job aspects of Sociology. What jobs are related to it? I think Sociology will also help me a lot in my optionals. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards

Job-wise Sociology has good scope and will also help you for CSS exam. It has many specialization like Demography, Criminology, Development studies, Research/surveys etc. Good luck !

Sociology or IR ? Much depends on your interest. Jobs available after MA sociology includes, lecturership, social welfare officer, research officer (various depts), census commissioner/statistical officer in PBS, probation officer, Jail dept, instructors(various acadamies) Agriculture/Forestry extension service, rural development etc.
