Help regarding Research

Hi...I am doing M.PHIL in ISLAMIC LAW...i have to do an assignment about Reseach...the question is that discuss relationship between reseach and criticism...is there anyone to know about that topic or know about any website that would be helpful in gathering data then pls let me know..
moreover i have to know about the problems faced by the researcher during the research...can anyone help me through online material?

A very valuable topic indeed.

Research is totally a scientific activity that invloves gathering of data, making a hypothesis and the asking a question.

Right from the first step "Data Gathering" one must know what form and type of data he is looking for and how it must be recorded. any mistake in recording of the data can make it useless for the scientific community.

Once a data is recorded then a hypothesis is created out of it...

For this hypothesis a question is asked merely to focus down upon something or ruling our other things on the hypothesis.

Later an experiment is designed and upon those results it can be decided if a hypothsis is correct or incorrect.


Criticism initiates once a hypothsis is termed as true or false..ciritcs would re-examine the whole researh activity and find flaws in it.. Like data was incorrect, the question asked was incorrect or have duality in it.. or thier was no Pass/fail critaria in the reasearch or the results were mingled or incorrect.


So keeping it simple.. the reasearch is a scientific acitvity to determine a certain hypothsis to be true or not and Criticism is the activity of analyzing the research results and procedures adopted in line with the "Scientific Method".

What is 'scientific method' is the right question where you should start you artical and it is easy.

The data collected could be opinions, observations, examples, stories, facts, experiences or previous recordings or historical stories.

Go to this link and read it all while you make notes.. in coming pages you would know Louis Pasture who was among the few firsts to mark what is a scientific method. Once you are clear on it you would be clear what is criticism and and how to do it.

Just for the sake of others.. It is very easy for people to believe in anything they are told. It is rare that someone really do some research and determine what is correct and what is just stories..

Thanks for useful info i have done research at Masters level and have idea abt all these steps of research i jst want to have some notes on the topic of genearal word 'Research and critics'
