Islam Invite to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided." Holy Qur'an 16:125 |

Sound of Thunder
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: Jews came to Allah's Messenger (PBUH) and said:
Tell us what thunder is? He (PBUH) replied: It is an angel (Angel Ra'ad) from Allah's angels that is set over clouds and in whose hands is a mikhraaq (a tool by which angels drive away and direct clouds) by which he drives clouds away, directing them where Allah commands him. They said: And what is that sound (of thunder) that we hear? He (PBUH) said: It is the sound of his voice. They said: You have spoken rightly. Declared hasan by Al-Albany in his Silsilat Al-Ahadeeth As-Sahihah (vol.4, p: 491) Ikrimah said that whenever Ibn Abbass (RA) heard the sound of thunder, he would say: Glorified is the One Whom you (addressing the angel) have glorified. And he said: Thunder (Ra'ad) is an angel that shouts to rain, the way a shepherd shouts to his sheep. Declared hasan by Al-Albany in Sahih Al-Adab Al-Mufrad |
