Asalam o alaikum

I'm working in a Ministry as Assistant (BPS-14) in islamabad, working under Prime Minister Assistance package for deceased for two years contract.

I living in a government accommodation which was allotted to my father. we are living under the grace period of 3 years which is provided through P.M assistance package.

I have some questions regarding Allotment of government accommodation, I'am providing you some rules of Ministry of housing and Works and ESTA-CODE of establishment. Please tell me that under these rules, are the contract employees and deceased cases allowed to retain the allotment of government accommodation?

Rule of Ministry of Housing and works:

. By Transfer of allotment: The allotment of government accommodation may be transferred to serving family members of an allottee in the event of his/her death or retirement. If the accommodation is above the entitlement of the proposed allottee they are allotted the accommodation of their entitlement and have to vacate the allotted accommodation.

15. Retention Of Accommodation.
a. In Case of Death of Allottee
(1) In the event of the death of an
allottee, the family of the allottee
shall be entitled to retain the
accommodation, under
occupation for a period not
exceeding one year, on payment
of normal rent ;
An allottee, on his retirement/expiry of
contract period shall be entitled to
retain the accommodation, under his
occupation for a period not exceeding
six months, on payment of normal rent:
This facility will be available to F.G.S.
once only.


ESTA-CODE of establishment division:

Sl. No. 136
Provision of Government accommodation to persons appointed on
contract, and Retention of Government accommodation by retiring
officers/officials.–In continuation of Establishment Division O.M.
No.10/52/95-R.2(Pt), dated 12.8.1998, the Prime Minister has been pleased
to decide that contract appointees whose terms of contract had been issued
prior to 12th August 1998 and who were in occupation of validly allotted
Government owned/requisitioned houses prior to 12-8-1998 may be allowed
to retain the said accommodation till the expiry of their present tenure of
contract appointment.
