@tanzeela
Nice topic dear!

Well in my opinion, there is a no such difference b/w Ilm and Education. Both are the same.
We use term ilmn in our Indigenous language, ways and habbits..like our nani’s or dadi’s used to say…"ilm bari dolat hai"…tat is to say it is a more proverbial sort of word… While the term "education" is more sophisticated one, used in the modern, stylish and a classy type of word. But the connotation they impart is the same...Like we don't say these days, ke main subba ilm hasil karnay school jaonga/gi...We rather say tat we go to school to get education...but we get ilm at schools..don't we?.Its how we percieve...in olden diction this term ilm was used more extensively than today...but the meaning is the same as of education.

Secondly,education is not the name given to only getting education in schools or college...The word educaton has been derived from two words...
E-lead
Ducer-out
which means to lead out...In general meaning of the term it means to grow, to develop or to nourish....It doesn't means that only education given in schools which is certified by a degree or certificate can be called as education..
The word "ilm" is the word from Arabic language which means "to know", "to percieve depth" or "to be sure"...

We are getting informal education since we are born...How to behave,how to react, ways of eating, walking, talking, norms ,values, traditions, culture is not something we only learn at schools formally....These are the things, of which we get education,daily by our parents,indirectly from relatives, family members and most of all peer-group...And all this is included in 'informal education'...We dont get a degree for such education, but it is a very important component and essential module for the proper growth and development of our personalities.

tat's what i think...
Regards,

@ cutepharmacist
I agree with U............Ilm is continuing process which goes with life ........
while education is specficaly dealt with degree related studies.......education is like "taleem"
@prieti
I thing u confusing things........we go to schools, colleges nd uni's for taleem rather than ilm.........
Ilm can be learnt from anywhere....while taleem more specificaly from instituions........

Sir, I respect ur opinion,but don't you think that education is also a continous process. I think, its wrong,when ppl say i hav completed my eductaion....Education attainment can never be completed...It goes on throughout our life...
