I prefer realism over idealism.

Before this debate i had made my mind...that we are not a nation sadly! If this kind of debate can be on air in Pakistan....then who can consider Pakistan a nation!Neither me nor you..or anyone!Yeah deceiving on the name of some positive element in one's thoughts is another factor here!!!

In my view we are not nation as nation requires single objective which is unity. In fact we being pakistanis can at the best be defined as MOB comprising of ehnic and sectarian groups recognizing each other as strangers and infidels such as punjabi, siraeeki, pothohari, sindhi, maharjer nationalist, pakhtoon, hazara, balchoch further eloborate as shia sunni, wahabi deobandi and then extreamist and moderate but no one introduces himself as Pakistani from the core of his/her heart as we prefer ourselves to be called from our ethnic and sectarian groups rather than pakistani and muslim respectively. Therefore, don’t even dare to say that we are a nation, by saying so is even sin, actually we are very much far from the word nation and it is unhidden and crual truth. conclusively, we are morally, ethically, mentally corrupt people wher everyone is working for his vested interest except very few examples and we can't present and declare these exceptions as example,in the nutshell, i would say "PAKISTAN IS NOTHING BUT COMPRISES OF SCATTERED CORRUPT PEOPLE(MOB). .

Dearth of Nationalism in Pakistan is something more accurately explained by Asabiyya. It is somewhat synonymous to social solidarity with an emphasis on unity, group consciousness, and social cohesion, originally in a context of "tribalism" and "clan-ism".
Ibn Khaldun argues that each dynasty (or civilization) has within itself the seeds of its own downfall. As they establish themselves at the center of their empire, they become increasingly lax, less coordinated, disciplined and watchful, and more concerned with maintaining their new power and lifestyle at the centre of the empire—i.e, their internal cohesion and ties to the original peripheral group, the `asabiyya, dissolves into factionalism and individualism, diminishing their capacity as a political unit. Pakistan was created against the demand of Muslims of subcontinent when they had perceived Hindus as their enemy. It acted as the social bond (Assabiya) on which the foundation of our country was led. But this process does not end here. The second part of the theory that says that seed of downfall are intrinsic to every civilization claims that every civilization falls for they indulge in leisure seeking: more accurately for our nation it is corruption and bad governance. Hence that spirit of Assabiyah that was the bed-rock on which the building of our country was laid is fast eroding.

If we look at the definition of word 'Nation" then you all are right. we are not a nation. In fact there are many nations in Pakistan today. and this is the root cause of present depressing condition of Pakistan
