I would just say one thing here, that is, serve your parents, be their support when they need you, never make them feel bad, do what they want you to do and that's when ALLAH is happy with you. Property, wealth, gold, jewelery and all other luxuries of life- all can be earned but not parents. They once gone are gone forever. So keep them happy. Every thing else is of secondary importance. That's just the long and the short of it...
