Question Issuance of Two Passports to One Person!
Hi every one I want to ask can any one have two passports at the same time according to Passport Act and Rules?I have a friend who has applied for UK work visa and submitted his passport to UK embassy and now he gets a job in Doha and needs passport.He wants to apply for another passport!Waiting earnestly for reply.Regards!!

No .. It is a crime to have two passports at the same time .. However, if a person is dual national he/she can have two passports of different countries if there isn't any restriction from any of the said countries ..

The best solution for your friend would be to call the U.K embassy and withdraw his application for visa, get his passport back and apply for Doha ..

According to Section 6 (Sub section 'j') of The Passport Act, 1974 (Act XX of 1974), a person who obtains more than one passport for himself either in the same or different names by concealing the fact of his already being in possession of a passport shall be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
