Hi Israrullah,

There is no set figure for the salary of UET graduates. It all depends on where you get adjusted after finishing engineering. As far as the monetary value is concerned, 50k in private companies is not a big deal at all (for engineering graduates). However, the jobs are hectic and non-permanent in nature. Moreover, current private job market requires references and acquaintances for job placement. No one is certain that he/she will get a job after graduation.

Many of my friends had studied in UET Lahore and some are working for private sector and many are preparing for competitive exams. UET is a good university (both in ranking and environment) and considering the fact that in comparison to NUST/GIKI it demands low cash outflows (in the form of tuition fees), it should be your prime target for admission. Do not worry about salary issues. Many a years ago, the telecom engineering was at top of the preference of the aspirants, now the same trend has vanished. Do not follow the salary trends or other socially dominant notions, go for the field you are interested in.

The events that unfold during the course of next years are nearly impossible to predict. Hence, what happens to the job market in next five years is difficult to forecast.
