Poem by Khoshal Khan Khattak

When her petall’d lips are parting,
Whitest pearls do lose their luster;

When her glance to me is darting.
Fades the fairest flower cluster,

Roses shamed, forget to blossom
Brighter radiance to discover

In the budding of a bosom
Flaunting as to bee the clover,

She the rose, her grace bestowing
On the thorn, that waits her pleasure,

I the fountain, faintly glowing,
Mirror of a garden’s treasure,

Lover, loved, together knowing
Rapture passing dream or measure

da afghan pa nang may watarla tura, nanagyalai da zamana khushal khattak yam

"I have taken up the sword to defend the pride of the Afghan, I am Khushal Khattak, the honorable man of the age."

Pull out your sword and slay any one, that says Pashtun and Afghan are not one! Arabs know this and so do Romans: Afghans are Pashtuns, Pashtuns are Afghans!

Pull out your sword and slay any one, that says Pakistanis,Afghan, arabs, and all who utter kalma-e-tayyibal(muslims) are not one! Hindus know,Jews know this and so do Romans: (Hope these would've been his words had he been alive todate).

Yara, I wish that were true.

But everyday, Pakistanis talk about kicking all the Afghans out of their country. When the war of terror operations began in FATA, the Afghan/Pashtun refugees from there were not allowed entry into Punjab and in Karachi, the camps prepared for them were burnt and ransacked.

In the Arab world (especially in the Gulf states), Pakistanis are treated like animals.

During the 1948, 1967 and 1971 Arab-Israeli wars, we were officially America's allies. During the 1948, 1965, 1971 and 1999 wars with India, not a single Arab country put any pressure on India. These are hard facts. No country in the world is as obsessed about the Muslim Ummah global Khalifah than Pakistan and we are paying the price for it. We are more worried about far-away Palestine than about our own Balochistan, where we, just like the IDF, are brutally massacring a defenseless people.

Khushal Khan's war wasn't against Hindus or the people of any race, ethnicity or religion, his war was for his Afghan people. This Hindu-bashing didn't even exist in South Asia until the establishment of the Muslim League, with the help of the British, in the early twentieth century.

In Pakistan, those who study Khushal Khan hide 1/3rd of his poetry or suppress it because it talks about stuff that contradicts their ideology. His poems on love and other subjects are, instead, popularized.
