With red grapes, red wines and red flowers

Ma ledale da Paris khaparay khkulay
I have seen the beautiful girls of Paris

Pa kiradar, gufthar khwagay laka bulbulay
With sweet voice and style like butterfly

Ma leeday Tajmahal ghotay da golo
I have seen the flowers of Taj Mahal

Da delhi khkule kharoona da Mugholo
Beautiful Mughal cities of Delhi

Ma leedalay America ke dee kharoona
I have seen cities in America

Che aoryazo tha ye rasee makanoona
The buildings touching the clouds

Kho che aoweenam da khpal da khato kor
But once I see my own house made of mud

Rana her shee mahaloona khaistha nor
I forget about all the palaces of the world

Da nare thange kusse zama da kali
These narrow streets of my village

Wartha sa dee da dunya kharoona khkulay
Are dearer to me than all the beautiful cities of the world

Che kharh makhay wror Pakhtoon seenay la dar shee
Once you embrace an uneducated and simple Pakhtoon brother

Darna her ba tol khais da bahrobar shee
You will forget about all the beauties of the universe

Khudaya shukar che paida de da de qaaam krham
Thanks Allah that I am born in this nation

Da pakhtoon da nar wajood de yaw andaam khram
I am a part of the body of an upright Pakhtoon

Sa ba khram da London loway mahaloona
The big palaces of London are of no use to me

Da Paris junay khaistha Rome guloona
And the beautiful girls of Paris and flowers of Rome

Pa Wallah che da Jannata ba sham sthoon
I swear I will come out of Paradise

Che kanzal pa ke wawnawram da Patkhoon

Dear Yousafzai,

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. My favorite verse is "Ya Allah shukar che paida de da de kaam krum----da pukhtoon da nar wajood de yow andaam krum".

However, I have an opinion about translation of one of the verses.

""Che kharh makhay wror Pukhtoon seenay la dar shee
Once you embrace an uneducated and simple Pakhtoon brother"

I dont think Ghani Khan means uneducated and simple by "khar". I also thought the same thing at a time. However, in foreign lands specially in Britain and USA, south asian people are refered to as brown people. "brown" means "khar" in pushto. I think that's why he uses "khar" to refer to the skin color of pukhtoons. Please correct me if I am wrong. I would appreciate any criticism. Thanks,
