Mein kai ruton sey hoon dekhta keh tamaam rang hein bujhey huwey
Ye ab ke khizaan ko kya huwa kiun meri nighaah mein thehar gai

Mein kya bataaon ke ab ki baar chaman ki haalat ajeeb thi
Har phool maatam-sara mila meri jahan jahan bhi nazar gai

Ye kon jaaney ke kya huwa mein dhoond dhoond ke thak gaya
Ke wo jo aek titli thi baagh mein wo bhi naajaaey kidhar gai

Abhi hey zara wo asar jisey meri zaat ney pooja kabhi magar
Wo junoon to kab ka khatam huwa wo soorat to dil sey utar gai

Mujhey kis jurm ki saza mili ke meri rooh tak hey thaki hui
Mein apni jaga sey hilaa nahi meri saans phir bhi ukharr gai

Ye chiraagh-e-jaan bhi ajeeb hey ke jala huwa hey abhi talak
Teri bewafaai ki aandhiyaan to kabhi ki aa ke guzar gai

Merey aasmaan ke haath mein bas aek chaand tha aas ka
Usey baadlon ney nigal liya to meri kaaeynaat hi ujarr gai
