Gali kuchon mein barg-e-khushk ki soorat bikharna tha
Hawaa se dousti kaa koi tu anjaam honaa tha

Junoon ke shaher mein lakin hamari haar lazim thi
Idhar aik shaira thi uss taraf sara zamanaa tha

Ye saari umr kis aashfatgi mein raaigaan kar di
Ussi ko yaad rakha hai jise dil se bhulana tha

Ajab wahshat ka alam hai samajh mein kuch nahin ataa
safar ki shab musafir ko kahan khaima lagana tha

Diye jo baam per rakhay thay meinne bujh gaye saarey
Issi taareek shab mein uss ko mere gaoon ana tha

Wo jab oajhal houa tu hum bhi apne aap se chounkey
"Ussey awaaz dena thi ussey wapis bulana tha"
