Roshni ki arzooain thain magar kuch aisa wiran tha main
Gali kay aakri siray par sab say tareek makan tha main

Kushboo ka rafeek tha phoolon ka razdan tha main
Magar ab kay to bahar rotoon main bhi banjar khizaan tha main

Kisi dashat ki nazar ho chuka koi karwan tha main
Bay noor sitaraon ka ujra ajab kahkashan tha main

Hawaoon say dostiyon ka shook tha magar natwan tha main
Jo kashti ki tabahi ka sabab tha wo badnaseeb badbaan tha main

Bazmay yar main tanha baitha bohat hiraan tha main
Wo zindagi thi mairi aur kal tak us ki jaan tha main

Wafai hazaar dukh ki talkiyaan, warna aisa kahan tha main
Bohat naram go tha, bohat shireen zaban tha main
