paanii ko ab to sar se guzar jaanaa chaahiye

har baar e.Diiyo.n pe giraa hai meraa lahuu
maqtal me.n ab ba-tarz-e-digar jaanaa chaahiye

kyaa chal sakenge jin kaa faqat mas'laa ye hai
jaane se pahale raKht-e-safar jaanaa chaahiye

saaraa jvaar-bhaaTaa mere dil me.n hai magar
ilzaam ye bhii chaa.Nd ke sar jaanaa chaahiye

jab bhii gaye azaab-e-dar-o-baam thaa vahii
aaKhir ko kitanii der se ghar jaanaa chaahiye

tohamat lagaa ke maa.N pe jo dushman se daad le
aise suKhan_farosh ko mar jaanaa chaahiye
