Saath tere jo bitaaye zindagi ke pal kabhii ,
Woh mahakte haiN abhii tak raat raanii kii tarah .

HasrateiN jo rah gayiiN thii us zamaane meiN sanam,
Woh machaltii haiN abhii Harf-e-jawaanii kii tarah.

MuNh sey to kuchh naa kahaa par jo likhey usne humeiN
Bolte haiN khaT abhii woh muNh- zubaani kii tarah.

AankheN ashkoN kaa samandar ban gayiiN haiN aaj kal,
Yaad bahtii jaa rahii hai roz paanii kii tarah.

Zindagii "Khamosh" guzrii jheel sii kal tak magar,
Ho gayee hai aaj dariiya kii rawaanii kii tarah.
