I have been told that the post has the following drawbacks:
It has no speedy promotions.
The salary is merely 50K.
These are considered corrupt like police inspectors.
There is no accommodation/ residence with the department.

Seniors please guide.
I cant prepare for interview.

point 1. yes, but now it would be fast.

point 2. mere 50k? what do you mean by this? even grade 17 officers are getting 40 or so.. 50 is more than enough.

point 3. Its up to the person. Even people in education, wapda, engineering are indulged in malpractices. customs should not be blamed alone.

point 4. Yes, no accommodation. but with 50 k you can arrange it anywhere in the country.

This forum was meant for relevant discussions and personal experiences, but unfortunately, people are using this forum to create their own forums i.e what's app groups etc.
It was shocking that candidates from Lahore were standing outside FPSC HQ, Ibd, just to know about interview questions etc. If interview experiences had been shared on this forum, they would not have taken this pain to travel in such heat to know minor information.
Moreover, if any candidate thinks that knowing the interview question before and preparing them and answering them would fetch selection for him, he is at fault. Interview is not just answering some questions but it is a test of your personality, calmness, attitude, confidence etc.
Any how, best of luck for the candidates who are still to appear in the interview and here is my interview experience.
I reached FPSC HQ at about 9:30 a.m. I was told to wait in 125 room no. on first floor. Then there was attendance on a paper and the interviews started at about 9:45 a.m. Before me, there were about 09 candidates and my turn came at 11:45 a.m. I came in a room where a FPSC person checked my testimonials and had a little chit chat. I would like to highlight that donot give that person any negative feedback regarding your joining FBR if selected or any other informal talk. Because, I noted that he wrote some code words on my form and signed. Then, it was my call from the interviewing room. The person first entered and told my name. The Officer told him to call and I entered.
There were three persons and as soon as I entered and walked in, they were observing deeply from toe to head. I said salam with smiling face to the person in the middle first and then when the person on the left looked me in eyes I also said salam and he nodded and wrote down something. I stood beside the chair and first sought permission to sit. When I have sit the Chairman had a detailed glance on me. I was putting my spectacles in blazer's pocket so he talked in a frank manner that why didn't I had put them in my blazer's top pocket. I told that it would have been informal. Then he told to put them in my shirt's pocket that they might not broken and I did it with a smile on face. Then the formal interview started.
He asked me about my service history and my specialization. As I am in service so he asked whether I know Rules of Business 1979. I told that I don't know completely but some of them. Then he asked about Constitution of Pakistan that have I read it. I told that not completely but that portion which had been discussed in newspapers etc. Then he asked what is ECC. He also asked about my District Domicile. Then he handed it over to the person on his left. The person asked terms related to FBR: sales tax, tax to GDP ration of Pakistan, what is tax, why tax is levied, how would you determine tax on a good, what is cost of doing business. I answered all of them. Then the person on the right of Chairman asked questions. His accent was quite hard to understand and he asked me that in which section of Ministry I was serving and I couldn't understand and said " sorry sir, I didn't understand". To which the chairman said in a higher tone the question and I answered. Then he asked what is GDP and what are the total remittances sent to Pakistan from abroad. I answered. He also asked in a mixed and lowered tone about Britain referendum or what to which I replied sorry as I had not understood. At that the interview concluded and the Chairman said thank you in a good tone and I also said thank you and walked outside confidently. They were still observing me till the time I had come outside and closed the door.
My advice to all would be that never loose your confidence. If you don't know anything, feel free to say sorry instead of building castles in air and remain confident. Walk confident, sit confident and look confident. Keep a smile on your face occasionally as this will help you to relax and lower your blood pressure. Make sure you have proper sleep before the Interview day as it is hot and you have to wait for your turn which may tore you down and you would forget even your own name. Be well dressed and advice would be wear coat and pent. Don't worry about the Institution at this time focus on giving your best. If it is meant for you it will come to you. And lastly, share your experience with your brothers for their ease as it will help you again as deciding Authority is ALLAH.

Many questions about FIA. I presume you are serving there. What is your major subject and what questions did they ask about your qualification?
