For civilians, IB is better than ISI with its pay package/structure etc.

Bro can you elaborate a little more. Do you think IB is good after CSS jobs? I heard the promotions are very slow in IB and there is not much horizontal or vertical mobility.

i) Yes, AD IB post is good after CSS and as per some people it is even better than many CSS Occupational Groups.

ii) So far promotions are not slow. The officer who joined Bureau in 2001 as AD became Dy Director in 2005 and Director in 2012, those who joined in 2003 became Dy Director in 2007 and Director in 2013, likewise those who joined Brueau in 2008 became Dy Director in 2013 etc which makes it a fast promotional department at par with DMG/PAS and PSP and better than all other CSS Occupational Groups. There may be some issues in future by concentration of officers, but so far it is very good in promotions.

iii) Honestly speaking, mobility of officers is mainly linked with their reference/approach/connections, officers of IB are in Police, NACTA, FIA (before court decision), Anti Corruption Establishments, P&D etc.

Regards

Thanks for the detailed reply. IB seems good then.. What about their perks and powers? Salary and professional development etc? How is their relationship with the Police/ISI/FIA/NAB etc?

I agree that it will be much better than some CSS groups. However, I think most of the senior officers are from PSP/DMG in IB so their monopoly will always be there. But then, if you reach Director level in about 10 years' time, that is a respectable and senior post so it won't matter much who or where your boss is from.

There is no Direct Recruitment of civilian in ISI.
in ISI all the employees are army soldiers while in IB all the employees are often retired army man but according to my point of view isi and ib job is better than css because personally i knew A deputy Director working in ISI he told me that i have a lot of power even css PAS and PSP officers under working me

Last year, in January MoD announced several posts through NTS. Was that not direct recruitment in ISI?
