It was protection..because all of these could have been the answer only if "it kills" wasn't in the options

Orientation is Broad term used for size, position, placement , alignment etc.
While the MCQ was demanding a more specific term for mentioning landscape/portrait orientation and that is PAGE LAYOUT.

I think you got it other way around. Page Layout includes many things like border, alignment, orientation, rows, column etc.

Orientation is specific to landscape and portrait only.
