People will suggest you one single book but in reality one book is not enough. You might consider consulting one book because of the influx of syllabus that has to be covered and very little time at hand. But this strategy could prove fatal for you.

Here are some of the reason why you should not consult only one book:

1) In PMS G.K paper is probably the toughest paper, in which most candidates fail. There are two reasons; one because it includes wide range of topics and secondly because it has minus marking. So even if you score 700 plus in written part and fail G.K paper by 1 mark all your hard work will be wasted. For this reason, I would recommend you not to take risk of relying on only one book.

2) As I already mentioned, G.K paper covers wide range of topics and for this reason one book is just not enough. Carvan book is most suitable for PPSC one paper MSQs.

Key to qualify in PMS is G.K because this paper has proven to be the fate decider for most of the candidates. Reason could be the very same mistake that I made -- Relying upon one book and taking this paper lightly.


I would recommend you following book for G.K

1)Carvan ( Because it is the basic book )

2)Advance Publishers PPSC Paper Papers

3)Sharukh Niazi book Published by Jahangir Publishers ( About 40 MCQs of PMS-2014 were from this one book. Shahrukh Niazi is a PMS officer and he set this book according to the trend of PMS.)

4) Ilmi Capsule but only World G.K and EDS

Now, I know that these books are quite thik and will take a lot of time but you can do smart work. You still have few months and you can easily cover but time is essence so start from this very day.

I did not consult single book for Urdu and still manage to score 57 in PMS 2014. I would not say that you must not consult any book but I would recommend you following things that I followed.

Beautify your Paper with Poetry. ( If you use Facebook, join pages and groups of poetry and every time you login just take some good verses and right them down and try to cram them. You can use these verses in Poetry and Essay in urdu paper. This is a very useful website for urdu https://rekhta.org)

Read Express epaper and one column each day. Try to learn the Urdu expression used by the writers.

As for as your second query is concerned I must inform you that PPSC has habit of surprising candidates so keep your finger crossed. It could be advertised any time soon but it surely will be advertised in 2016 because this exam has been regularized.

Please refer to my earlier post. As worthy member has said verses are key so try to memorize as much as possible.
