Difference b/w PCS and PMS
Bro there's still a confusion i heard most of people saying that pcs is converted into pms, what is that?
|
pms & pcs
brother i have already explain that
pms is a type of test which is held under pcs in which most high level seats are announced and filled those people who say pms is the new name of pcs are on wrong and fail to understand exact situation. |
PCS Stands For Provincial Civil Service while PMS stands For Provincial Management Service. This PMS concept was introduced in 2004,under PMS Rules 2004 by the then Punjab Govt. The 1st Batch of PMS was Recruited in 2005.(If em not wrong),2006 was second and Recently inducted batch is the third one and the selected officers are under training.
So,PCS and PMS are same thing.
pms is a type of test which is held under pcs in which most high level seats are announced
PMS Posts are filled through CCE (Combined Competetive Ecam),Which is conducted by PPSC(Punjab Public Service Commission). This CCE exam is conducted for Recruitment in Grade 16 and 17. Yes,PMS is the new name of PCS. |
AOA
PCS (Provincial Civil Services) is a combined competitive examination like CSS. It is not an organization or board. Punjab Services & General Administration Department (S&GAD) is the competent authority which deals with all matters of PCS regarding sending of requistion for new posts to Public Service Commission, training of successful candidates, posting, transfering etc. The department is headed by Addl./Chief Secretary of the Punjab. Yes, you can say that PMS is a new name of PCS examination. But all posts which advertise under the title of PMS actually do not fall in PMS. According to Schedule II of PMS Rules 17 January, 1994 following posts fall under PMS : 1) Section Officer 2) Deputy District Officer (Revenue) 3) Deputy District Officer (Consolidation 4) Deputy District Officer (Coordination 5) Deputy District Officer (Staff) with EDO (Revenue) 6) Deputy District Officer (General) with DO (Revenue) 7) Deputy District Officer (Colony) with DO (Revenue) 8) Deputy District Officer (Registration) 9) Deputy District Officer (HRM) 10) Deputy District Officer (Finance) 11) Deputy District Officer (Judicial) 12) Tehsil Municipal Officer 13) Other equivalent posts, as may be specified by the Government from time to time Last time in 2008 following posts were advertised by PPSC. difference b/w PMS and PPSC
What is the difference b/w Punjab Public Service Commission and PMS?
Regards |
What is the difference b/w Punjab Public Service Commission and PMS?
Regards
PPSC is the Punjab Public Service Commission an institution responsible to recruit the potential candidates against the different posts under Government of Punjab. And PMS is Provncial Managment Service which is a combined competitive exam held by PPSC. Regards, |
ppsc is an organization who is responsible to select civil servents in different govt departments. such as education, medical, police, excise, labour, finance, and many more
The ppsc is vested with the responsibility of making direct recruitment for various posts under the Government of Punjab. on other hand pms is the kind of a test under which top list post of province are filled by an exam called provincial mangment services the following seats are filled under this exam tehsildar ddor depty suprintendent of jailer excise and taxation office section officer etc so ppsc is a commission or institute while pms is the name of an examination |
the difference b/w PCS & PMS
I,m a PMS officer from 2nd batch........... here, a few friends tried to differentiat PCS from PMS and led the readers astray...
1)Provincial Civil Service(PCS) was made up of three branches a)PCS-Executive b)PCS-Secretariat branch(provinicial secretariat service...PSS) c)PCS-Judicial branch; All these three streams put together made Provicial civil service(PCS) but in common understanding PCS stood for Executive Branch; 2)...PPSC conducted combined competitive examination for the Posts of Extra Assistant commissioners and Section officers....... the toppers usually joined Executive branch whereas the left over joined secretariat branch...... here its important to mention after the exam the two streams separated once for all.. Erst while EAC served in the field doing Magistarial duties whereas, section officers worked their whole careers in the head quarters. After Devolution plan in 2001,Magistarial System was abolished and field officers were redisgnated as DDOs.DOs,and EDOs....... PMS,was created in 2004,whereby all streams were merged and multipurpose service was created with enormous horizantal mobility.... PMS officers unlike PCS are simultaneously field officers and serve in the secretariat.... like DMGs.They can serve and are serving in every provincial department..As i,m serving in judiciary as special judicial magistrate, my batchmates are serving as DDO(R),(C),(G),(S), (colony),(HRM)(registration)DMOs,AD(ACE),SJMs,D.D (LDA),Dy.Project Managers(PIWCP).PRSP,SOs.......... many of them as Administrators of TMAs....,TMOs,Political Assistants etc....... PMS is entirely a new job with enormous scope.......... |
