SO first advice to you is that opt your optional subjects prudently, choice of optional subjects plays a pivotal role in your success in competitive exams in general and in PMS in particular, because unlike CSS in PMS the scoring trend seldom fluctuate, subjects that are scoring in PMS always remain scoring. So I would like to suggest following subjects: Punjabi Arabic Public Admin Mass comm Social Work Geography Second thing is that you have to follow the syllabus outline of PMS optional subjects because examiner follows the same. If you have a look at the paper of any optional subject, you will observe that syllabus have the same order of topics. Focus on General Knowledge, it paves your way to success. Keep a track of dates and things happening around you for current affairs, and for GK study a good GK book. For English composition you have to practice two things, taking initiative and building edifice. You have to write a long story taking off from a short opening sentence. Then you have to translate from Urdu into idiomatic English so also practice that. Always be concise in your answers and be factual, never be equivocal. In Islamiat I would like to suggest you to attempt in Urdu, it gives you room for maneuvering and you will hedge the risk of writing wrong ayat/hadith translation. For Interview you have to be bold and frank. Always let them know that you feel confident, no matter if you don't know the answer to a question or even two. I remember that after all good answers to the panel question, I stuck on a question, I did not stumble because it may ruin your remaining interview and over all impression may not be good. Always remember that no one knows everything. So be confident and upbeat. Best of Luck P.S: I am not allocated but the thread starter had asked the qualifiers (not officers) to share their story, so I did as a good will gesture for the aspirants. |
