1- Your name, merit no.your academic and professional qualification
2- attempts of PMS
3- your optional subjects. Your written+ interview score
4- your preparation strategy(both for written and interview)
5- If you were doing any job earlier how did you manage your
preparation along job
in short share all what you think is beneficial for PMS aspirants.

Avoid regular use of "Netspeak" or other "cute" grammar or spelling (For example: writing "R U a woman?" instead of "Are You a woman?").

Users should not post a topic/reply in CAPITALS, the reason being is that this is considered as shouting.

Qualification: MBA (BZU), ERP Engg. (Imperial College UK), Msc. Political Sciences (University of Sargodha)
Written: 670 / 1200

MCQs: You can read newspapers daily (Front Back, International & Sports Page especially) and note down important happenings. You can also consult authentic General Knowledge book with less errors for preparing GK paper.

Default Bilal Hassan.....Merit Number 212

Name: Bilal Hassan
Merit num: 212
Qualification: M.B.A (Marketing) from I.B.A Punjab University
Attempt of PMS: 1st
Optional Subjects: Political Science: 118 Philosophy: 129 Business Admin: 99

Interview Score: 137.20
Link to my Interview:
http://www.cssforum.com.pk/540178-post15.html

I could have got allocation easily if I just had one subject, Punjabi, I missed my allocation because of very heavy optional combination. SO first advice to you is that opt your optional subjects prudently, choice of optional subjects plays a pivotal role in your success in competitive exams in general and in PMS in particular, because unlike CSS in PMS the scoring trend seldom fluctuate, subjects that are scoring in PMS always remain scoring.

So I would like to suggest following subjects:

Punjabi
Arabic
Public Admin
Mass comm
Social Work
Geography

Second thing is that you have to follow the syllabus outline of PMS optional subjects because examiner follows the same. If you have a look at the paper of any optional subject, you will observe that syllabus have the same order of topics.

Focus on General Knowledge, it paves your way to success. Keep a track of dates and things happening around you for current affairs, and for GK study a good GK book.

For English composition you have to practice two things, taking initiative and building edifice. You have to write a long story taking off from a short opening sentence. Then you have to translate from Urdu into idiomatic English so also practice that.

Always be concise in your answers and be factual, never be equivocal. In Islamiat I would like to suggest you to attempt in Urdu, it gives you room for maneuvering and you will hedge the risk of writing wrong ayat/hadith translation.

For Interview you have to be bold and frank. Always let them know that you feel confident, no matter if you don't know the answer to a question or even two. I remember that after all good answers to the panel question, I stuck on a question, I did not stumble because it may ruin your remaining interview and over all impression may not be good. Always remember that no one knows everything. So be confident and upbeat.

Best of Luck

P.S: I am not allocated but the thread starter had asked the qualifiers (not officers) to share their story, so I did as a good will gesture for the aspirants.

Wa Alaikum Asslam dear,

I had appeared in 2012 and official name of that PMS was PMS 2011. No PMS was held in 2013, perhaps you got deceived by the date of my post, it was made in 2013. Wait for ad in this and next month, if it comes then exam would be held in July, if it doesn't appear then no PMS this year.

Regards,
