my question may sound silly but here goes
oms online application requires front side scanned image of cnic now is it safe to get the cnic scanned from a any computer shop because of the fear that a copy of the image might be used for any illegal purpose

You can scan it from a trusted shop. And after getting scanned picture in your flash drive, request the person to delete the picture from computer.

Extreme caution should be taken in case of cnic scanning and photocopying. I personally know a person whose cnic was used in the sale of snatched car. If you can afford then buy a scanner and printer.

sir if only the front side of the cnic is available to a person can it still be used for any illegal activity (putting a removable sticker on backside of cnic since ppsc requires only front side)

There is no such need to be over cautious. The stationery salesman photocopy and scan hundreds of CNICs daily. If you need peace of mind ask your friend (having scanner) to scan your CNIC.

if anyone of you are even more concious about it, simple is that everyone has nowadays smartphones just use it. Download "Cam Scanner" app from your store and I can assure you it will help you very much not just in NIC case, but in almost all document scanning material.

Default A bit of query regarding FPSC Online Application
AOA - Please confirm that with new online process there is no need to submit any hard copy of documents? like required in past.
All we need to submit the fee in bank and challan copy to FPSC at the time of test/interview?

No need of hard copy. But you must show your original fee receipt at the time of Viva voce to PPSC.
