Punjab Government Abolished the post DDO(R)

in a bill for amendment in Local Government Ordinance 2001 government of Punjab has abolished the post of DDO(R) by reinstating the position back into the system as it was working in 1999.Now the Assistant Commissioner will handle the affairs of Revenue and all the revenue affairs has been taken in control of Provincial government rather than District Government.

obviously it will effect the number of posts in upcoming PMS and it has made the PMS less attractive hmmmmmmm

I think PMS officers will remain unaffected by this move.Those who are working in districts as DDO(R)s will obviously get benefit of theirs post being converted into ACs with higher authority and influence.Morever, the DMGs will be more interested to get posting in Subdivisions as AC. This move will revive the prestige of district administration.
