you don't need to give full time of full 3 months for a test.. Go side by side with your preparation. New beginners should prepare compulsory subjects in this time up to August. along with it, give almost 2 hours for GAT book and course of screening test.. go for optional subjects after august-september. However, its my own strategy.

what specifically you mean by GAT book? I mean aren't the mcq's in that based on different course content? ( I don't have a much idea because I've never given the GAT test)

For English portion, I'm writing down the detaied strategy.

And for EDS, consult Encyclopedia of Evereyday Science by Dr. Rab Nawaz Samo.

The stuff you are going to prepare is actually from your Compulsory papers.
Therefore, after having prepared for the Screening Test, you'll have already got done with your Compulsory portion.

i am sure screening test will not that must difficult if you take following steps for 2 hours daily
1)GAT general book of Barren and study and practice maths,analytical reasoning,analogies from them
2)for vocabulary study GRE book it will very good for antonyms and synonyms and vocabulary from dawn news paper
3)Jahangir book of general knowledge it will be enough

Inshallah in 3 months you will be prepared enough

new aspirants shall not panic from screening test as it will gradually cover their compulsory portion up to some extant along with preparation for this test ..Moreover NTS book, which is available in market is not the only, but a major source to get a good score in maths, algebra and analytically reasoning. for rest follow the syllabus of compulsory subjects

Dear members ...as it was mentioned by Ainuddin kibzai..screen test is not a myth and we should take it quit easy...one should not waste his/ her time in obsession to get a complete command over the portion of general abilities. according to my observations, which i'm sharing and that might help others, we should focus those areas, relevant to the final exam, and do not waste much time in preparing ourselves for part 2 .

passing marks : 100


Part‐I: English (weightage = 20%) 40 marks
Part‐II: General Abilities (weightage = 20%) 40 marks

target 40 marks in part 1 & 2


Part‐III: General Knowledge (weightage = 45%) 90 marks

this part is quite important so we should give it more time. set a target of getting atleast 60 marks ( minimum )

Part‐IV: Islamiat (weightage = 15%) 30 marks

normally Islamiat Mcq's are quite difficult to solve so 15 marks is my target in this portion.

so 40 +60 +15 = 115

these observations are just based on my personal experiences to go through such screening stages. I ll be looking forward/welcome suggestions from you guys...i think its time to work hard but in a smart way
