My ASI Interview
Time: 12:30
Duration: 15+ minutes
Language: Whole interview in English Language
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me: Entered the room and said Asslam o Alaikum

They: Wasalam o alaikum

Chairman: Your Name is ---

Me: Yes

Chairman: Full Name?

Me: Full Name is ----

Chairman: You are from?

Me: I am from ---

Chairman: Your Education in?

Me: Economics

Chairman: What Economics?

Me: Masters in Economics

Chairman: What are you doing in these days?

Me: I am preparing for CSS exam in these days and also have taken two attempts but twice failed in composition paper. However, I am trying my best for the upcoming attempt. Then he suddenly entrapped and said what do you do beside the CSS preparation?

Me: I lied, because It's been ages I have left my job and doing preparing for CSS exam, I said I am doing job in an international organization named ---- as a consultant adviser in United Kingdom Campaign. As I had experience of this job and was ready to answer if thy would ask anything about it. However, Chairman just asked in which city it is and I named the city.

Chairman: Why do you want to join Police?

Me: I satisfied him and took a lot time in blah blah blah with confedent and in good sound English, that I did mistake some times I was beating about the busshes to tackle the old man-chairman.

Chairman: How will you eliminate corruption?

Me: I spoke a lot but I think he was not satisfied with my answer as he again said what will you do to tackle corruption, hence, I confidently spoke in good tone and answered what I knew. Then he said Okay.

Chairman:"Police rishwat leti hay aap ka kya khayal he is bare main" It is the only question where he asked in sindhi language. Except it all questions and discussion went in English language, initially I answered it in Sindhi, then he enterpeed in Engllish thus I confidently carried on my answer in English langue smoothly. Because I have good grasp over English speaking and I speak smoothly even more better than the old mans.

Me: I answered it and told about the general assumption, and showed the both sides of the coin and mentioned about a bit media's propaganda and general assumption. However, while I said there are many people in every department who do corruption and I said "I will not do any corruption" (here he assumed me that I would do corruption because I guuessed he similed and looking at my face and assuming me that he is gonna big corrupt fish in this department, I don't know why he was assuming like that but I knew he assumed like this)

Chairman: What does do your father?

Me: He is retired government servant recently.

Chairman: From which department?

Me: ---- department.

Chairman: What was his post?

Me: ---- post.

Chairman: Looking at my face and then said to the other member, that he can ask the questions. The second member was an old man, while I and chairman we both had conversation, I noticed he was analysing and was also writting some thing in his paper to opt the questions for asking, may be it was my assumption! Member was very old man like PAA in an indian movie.

Member: He looking at my face and then took some time to ask difficult question, fist he told me so Mr. --- you have appeared in CSS twice, I said yes sir, but unfortunately could not make it and striving hard for the last attempt. Nevertheless, He asked: When oxford university was established and when it's been functioning?

Me: (I innerly yarrr ye kya pochlia isne here he hit me hard really) anyways, as I didn't know the answer then I said, "I think in 17th century".

Member: With shouting Voice NNNNNNNNNOOOOO NOOOOOOOO! In 17th century!!!!!!!!! Actually he was expecting me encyclopedia! Nonetheless.

Me: I don't know then, sorry

Member: Where is it?

Me: London

Member: Asked another question, that was also surprising. He asked. Where is the Panama Canal?

Me: Instantly answered, Egypt!! then again instantly said no sir in Egypt, there is Suez Canal. The Panama Canal is in Panama City.

Member: What is its length in kilometers?

Me: I am sorry sir, I don't know.

Member: When Red Cross was established?

Me: I had read this but could not manage to recall the answer and already he was irritating me and I said sorry sir I don't know. Then he assigned me to the chairman by saying I am done.

Chairman: Who was first Chief Minister of Sindh after Independence?

Me: Answered correctly. Ayoub Khoro

Chairman: Who was second governor general of Pakistan after independence?

Me: answered correctly Khuwaja Nizamudin---here chairman was writing something in a piece of paper.

Chairman: He asked another question which I answered correctly but I have forgotten the question.

Chairman: By then, I was confident and was saying innerly thanks God I have satisfied the chairman in the GK, because the Oldman PA who asked dump questions and I was dissapointed and saying innerly I would not have to mention about CSS and Job. Nevertheless. Chairman asked another question that who was first Governor after (here I similied and was expecting that he would ask about sindh first governor but he was looking at my face and guessed I knew the answer hence, he, on the spot diverted the question by asking) "Who was first governor of sindh """after sindh separated from Bombay"?

Me: I answered incorrectly by answering Sheikh Ghulam Hussain Hidayatullah.

Chairman: He said no and then paused a while and eventually said you may go.

Me: Gone out of the room by saying Salam with pleasant mood however innerly I was saying I could not perform well may be. Like CSS, again here is another a BIG bad luck in the end.

So it was my interview, I can't rate my interview because I don't have any idea as most of the candidates here are not ready to share there interviews and are afraid of their seats unlike me and some other members who posted their interviews without any fear. I believe that everything is in the hand of Almighty Allah. So, guys, rate my interview I will love to know about my mistakes what I did in interview.

Thanks in anticipation :)

I think that old man was show piece and just set there to ask difficult questions. I had read whole encycolopedia but the questions he asked were all out of the encyclopedia and prominent general knowledge books. It was deliberate such questions. I could answer the questions which I knew what I had read while preparing CSS. Hence, while he was asking the questions I noticed chairman was writting something in the piece of the paper. I thing that old man had nothing to do with marking. Everything I mean marks are likely in the hands of chairman. If it is likely to be that then I see my bright chances. Else, God knows better. But I am so far hopeful.

Nevertheless, I wish you best of luck and I reciprocate same to you. Would you please share your interview?

Dear, exclusively.... I think your interview was better than others as you have mentioned that you have missed like Oxford University and Panama Canal because they need raw candidates not the genius candidates for ASI in Sindh Police..... Hope for best as your better English speaking may have influenced them.... and I think this Interview is only to asses the pesonality and previous marks of Written tests matters alot in ASI recruitment......Your Chances are bright...

srp seats are urban rural quota based. 60 urban and 90 rural.
css is not an hp-hill task, ur views in your posts over here at forum indicates that you are competent enough to pass this exam as well.
well saima first cover scoring subjects i-e every day science and your optional subjects, exam will start from 14th February, make a time table up to 14th February, and divide subjects in days. give 8 to 10 days per subject, give shorter time to subjects in which you are sound enough, and cover those subjects as much as you can in which you feel that you are weaker. hope this strategy will be fruitful in your final result.

saima urban/rural vacancies are not based on district wise, it is based on entire our Provence. means those districts of sindh i-e Hyderabad, Karachi, and main city of sukkur are urban districts of sindh, however in Hyderabad there there are 4 talukas that includes qasimabad, latifabad and main city are urban areas of hyderabad and tandojam and tando qaiser are rural taluka of Hyderabad, and all rest of sindh districts are rural areas of sindh.

90 seats of rural means these 90 seats will be divided into only two ranges hydearbad and sukkur as karachi is entirely in urban quota.

Dear, Ghulam asghar phulpoto, Sorry to say i dont think you would be recommended for this ASI BPS-9 post because as per your Interview information your personality suits much higher post than this....... by the way this is my personal point of view.... white shirt and red tie means a lot... i too thought to wear that in my interview but it only suits above 16 scale jobs as PMA long course Pak Army commission equals that.... If they recommend you for ASI post I am sure you would be at top candidates of the list in sukkur range as per you interview information... Wish you best of Luck...

@inayat, mubashir, phupoto

guys, would you please let me know that how many marks are of interview. In written part we had three papers of 300 marks. What about interview marks, ususally how they award us the score of interview. I mean there were two members, don't you think both members had seperate marks, like I have heard that chairman has 60 marks in his hand and the other member has 40 marks. If any of the members give you less then 33 percent marks and does not recommend you that means you are decleared failed. No matter how much good you are at written even you are at top highest marks but if any of the member does not recommend you that means you are doomed and failed straight away. I have heard such thins but I am almost not sure that whether these are based upon reality or rumours. Please let me know this thing and share your information.

Waiting for your detailed reply and thanks in anticipation
exclusively

I am adding another thing to ask you guys, look at the trend of ASI what I have observed everything is as under according to the qualification. They set a strategy to conduct the interview in 3 different categories:-

Category A
Masters Degrees' holders, interview is almost in English language only

If you introduce with master degree then you would have to answer the following questions:

1-Why do you want to join Police?
2-What do you say about terrorism and how would you tackle it?
3-How would you eliminate corruption and so on such debatable questions which have an analytic slandered?
Plus
1-Along with chairman an other old man who is set there to ask too much difficult questions which are most likely devised statistical and figarative questions e.g. dates, kilometers, establishments, world geography etc..
Apart from that chairman also ask gk questions which are comparatively easier than the old man member but not that much easier e.g 1st and second CM of sindh after the separation of Sindh from bombay. Constitutional pure LLB based questions.

Category B
Qualification: Graduation, and the interview would be in the Language: Mix Urdu, Sindhi. and hardly English; if you have are graduate then the questions are as under:

1-Chairman used to ask average questions e.g like PM, Presidents, Islamamiat, and nothing else special.
2-Then, the second old man of the film ask the questions which are comparatively easier than the category A. e.g He asks about in the same tendency like statistics and dates, facts and figures related to geo-politics of the world but not that high much difficult as he does for category A.==this is big discrimination!
After that, some times, he asks to write down the difficult spellings.

Category C
Qualification: Intermediate; if you are intermediate or having master degree but you mentioned intermediate then the interview would likely be halwa for you. The intermediate questions are as under:-

Language: Only urdu and sindhi no Eglish
Chairman ask very easy questions in sindhi/urdu like as under:-
1-Pakistan ka pehla sadar kon tha?
2-Sindh ka pehla CM kon tha?
3-Chach kya he?
4-Singapore ka capital kya he and many such easy capitals
5-Or ap apni marzi ka ek paragraph likhe essay ka? that's over. Bus :pp kya baat hay!

Now, let's analyse the interview pattern:
A-If you are masters then you will face very difficult questions, especially the old man, the right side old man monster will likely eat you in asking difficult and stupid questions like we are deemed to be appreared in a quezz competition. Hence, your interview will give you really tough time and it gave me really tough time while I mentioned masters degree along with a prominent experience of job, it means I hit hard an ax on my on feet and fueled the fire while to tel the old man aa bhens mujhey marr :glare:..

B-If you mentioned B.Com, B.A, Then, your interview would not be that much difficult and you would probably mange to sum up your viva smoothly..

C-If you mentioned Intermediate that means you are deemed lucky and they throw very very easy and silly questions. You will easily be able to answer all the questions correctly.

Now coming to the point?

1-Why one should mention his/her master degree and job experience? Agar inter batadia to muja e muja matlab ek b question miss nahi hoga!!:onesec

2-It means having higher degrees-the higher you fly the harder you fall???

3-However, if you are graduate or intermediate, then you are king and all in all to sum up your interview to the level of perfection with easy questions to answer.

Effections

If a candiage having master degree to face rubish questions and the candidate having intermediate mentioned on interview faces halva questions then why should one mention his/her master degree? Don't you think it is a BIG discrimination because they don't treat equally!

It is my personal opinion that, every body should be treated equal while interviewing, no one is above the cloud. Every body must get the opportunity on the basis of his/her own education background but questions should be asked what is on the basis of job and requirement. Because, if you are Phd, then they must not ask phd questions, as they are not going award us the another phd. Simply, the test is based upon intermediate then the questions should also be same as per the requirement and equal tendency should be devised.

In addition to this, I had seen many candidates on the gate of SPSC, waiting for the candidates to collect the questions because they or their kith and kinds were likely to take the interviews in the upcoming days. Thus, it can be said that spsc's role is antagonist here and not up to the mark to manage the equity and in transparent manner for every candidate.

80 percent questions were repeated, one of my friends collected a lot of questions and in the end he managed to answer the all of questions easily and correctly. I am not saying he did wrong, but I am saying their interview conducting and questioning repeatation shows that they are not competent including chairman who had read only sindh history and constitution.

Apart from that, personally, I did not like the way they were conducting the interviews, their way of analysing and selecting the candidates is not up to the mark. While panel was tired in the end of the candidates' interviews, they only ask two three questions and used to say bas beta ap jao because they were too much tired and were eager to go to home early. This is not good at all! They, don't care about the candidate who has been striving hard for the job for last three years.

Guys, now let me know what is their tactic to award the marks, do they consider master degree and experience reliable for the post as compare to intermediate. If they ask very easy and silly questions from the candidates of intermediate and unlike masters then don't you think it is a big discrimination? May be my assumption is wrong; may be they give more marks or recommend higher education for the post of ASI. I have no idea about that, hence, I will love to know about it, and if you know about the interview trend regarding marking and awarding according to qualification, job experience to a candidate for the job of ASI, then please share?

Thanks in anticipation :)

dear mubshir, tomorrow is last day of hyd range interview, because now spsc has increased hyd range candidate which are 425,which is sheer injustice to call many candidate on merely 65 seats it is opposite of commission policy ,they should have kept good passing criteria in written rather than pass many candidate on merely passing marks ,spsc has also shorten the sukkar range seats ,which are 53,,initially,there were 63 seats for sukkar,,spsc has given full advantage to karachi candidate there are 148 seats for 460 boys,,spsc has updated today this new policy ,,,,

saimabaloch Tuesday, November 18, 2014 03:55 PM

o sorry i forgot total hyd range candidate are 435,last date of interview is 20 November ,,they have updated today in asi schedule ,the number of candidate are much larger

actually i have come to know that some of the candidates who were declared physically unfit have given chance to appear in interview, thats why the number of the candidates further increased. well lets see.
@inayat, mubashir, phupoto

guys, would you please let me know that how many marks are of interview.

Thanks in anticipation :)
dear exclusively you have analysis the interview pattern very brilliantly, No doubt interview consists of 100 marks but i don't think so that they have divided marks into each other, agar aisa hota tou mere kch doston se sirf chairman ne interviews conduct kiye hen tou kiya ab un ko only 60 marks milenge? no way, in addition to this i only say that masters degree has nothing to do with chances of selection. get remember when you were calling for scrutiny of your documents by clerk at spsc head office on the day of interview there were only column of intermediate no further column was added there for higher studies. and i think passing marks of interview are 33 but it does not mean that if some one not giving correct answers in GK or in other education credentials then he/she will be failed, take a look on your own interview i mean you have been asked only 5-6 academics or Gk questions and you have answered 2 wrong so as per your information you are may be failed. as per my own assumption interview is not only about your academics ability or how you are powerful in English or in your recent qualification but actually its depend upon multiple choices, your personality your background etc. it was my first interview in spsc so may be i am wrong and i don't know actual selection criteria.
stay blessed
