Thumbs up Subject selection for PCS 2013(expected)

I am initiating an activity for proper subject selection for upcoming pcs 2013.All seniors and CSS/PCS officers will take part in this crucial activity. (Hopefully)

I am beginning with myself that whatever discussions I had with the PCS officers of 2003 and 2009,I have reached to a conclusion that following are scoring optional subjects in PCS examination:

1: Islamic History and culture (part 1)
2: Indo-pak history (part 1)
2: Islamiat
3: Sindhi literature
4: journalism
5: sociology

I hope my this effort will be appreciated and the friends will contribute in this for the help and guidance of aspirants.

regards,
G.M.ABRO (CSS 2012)

good effort dear . I was also looking for any dedicated aspirant. My optional subjects for PCS are Islamiat, Indian History 2 and Islamic History.
my subject slelction is quite absurd as I have taken two history related subjects. But brother I have deep interest in these subjects.
Do you have past papers of islamic hstry 1 and islamiat.
Regards

Pure Maths is a scoring subject provided that:

1. Not only procedure of solution should be right but also the answer of the problem must be accurate. If final answer is wrong whereas your procedure is right, ZERO marks are awarded.

2. Each 20 marks question comprises of 4 questions of 5 marks each. So while attempting 5 questions you actually end up solving 20 questions. Each question can consume your 15 to 20 minutes or more.

So if you are MSc in mathematics and regularly practicing maths or imparting tuition somewhere then you can opt for it otherwise it consumes a lot of your time for revision.

G.K paper has become capricious in nature. Last time more MCQs were given where as previous papers gave a balanced look. You can hope that this time they return to routine paper.

Dear G.M.

Journalism is not an optional subject in PCS as per optional subject list provided by SPSC.
