I also reviewed the 2008 papers . The poetry given in the paper was popular couplets which is good .For tashreeh part , we need to read a lot of poetry .

How are you preparing poetry part ? Any particular book ?

@ All

Are you able to recognise the poet of the stanzas given in the paper. I am clueless about the poet
I guess it requires a lot of study of poetry to recognise the poets.

I have also opted essay and general paper in Urdu medium. It has been years that I have stopped reading and writing Urdu. In graduation the only medium was English due to which now I am facing a lot of difficulties to cope up as per required for competitive exam. Besides I have very weak Urdu vocabulary.

Considering my situation please provide me tips and guidance to be proficient in the Urdu language so that I can pass the exam.

P.S I have started reading Urdu newspaper and also acquired a Urdu to English dictionary.

I have also opted for Urdu Essay/General. Not having studied, or read anything in Urdu for almost a decade; my reading has become an incorrigible stutter. I dare not talk about Urdu writing. Sigh. I didn't know I would be up against Shaiers and Ghazals.

Are we to follow CSS Urdu Syllabus, or BA Urdu Syllabus for PCS Urdu General ?

this is just a part of ghazal collection and none of the above ghazals appeared in PCS 2008 I don't think by preparing only mentioned ghazals would be enough to get good score
