Wa alaikum asslam! Thesis statement is basically the stance or your take on the issue, it has to be very specific and clear. In rest of the essay you substantiate the stance taken. Now having established what a thesis statement is, considering your statement "feminism is an important third world issue",you have just eluded to the significance of the topic, you have not taken a clear stance which either could have been in favor of topic or against it.
However, this does not matter since you had not given the heading "Thesis Statement" so you could get away with that. Follow my words for next time, I wish you best of luck in your noble endeavors. Good luck for 46th CTP.
