my preparation for competitive exams started during my graduation. I must admit that my qualification of MSc IR from Quaid e Azam University gave me an added advantage of preparation. I was also a qualifier of PMS 2013 attempt,but was not allocated, so ALHAMDULLILAH the Base was set.

English Precis and Composition = Wren & Martin or Exploring the world of English

Pakistan Affairs = Trek to Pakistan and there is one book by I.H Qureshi (Univ of Sindh), sorry I forgot the name..

Current Affairs = Times Magazine, Diplomat, Economist and dDawn Newspaper

Islamiyat = Islam it's meaning and message, and there is a book by 2014 topper. I would recommend it.

For optionals


Sociology = Virtual university notes, & Horton and Hunt

Journalism = Abid Tehami & Understanding Journalism by Lynette Sheridan Burns

Philosophy 1 = Irving Copi Or Patrick Hurley
Philosophy 2 = Internet sources

US history = NOA academy notes + Internet

International Law = S.K Kapoor.
