Is Pakistan ready for digital revolution?
1. Thesis: Given the huge portion of youngsters in our total population that is immensely tech-savvy, impactful penetration of third and fourth generation internet in Pakistan, growing small and medium enterprises (SMEs), rise of entrepreneurial tendencies, and owing to the foundation laid by government for digitization through its “Digital Vision” , it can safely be maintained that Pakistan is ready for digital revolution.

2. Pakistan possesses a robust platform for a digital revolution to materialize

a. Presence of youth bulge and desirability of technology among youngsters.
b. Impactful penetration of 3-G and 4-G internet in Pakistan.
c. Fast growing SMEs and their demand for growth opportunities through digitization.
d. Emergence of entrepreneurial tendencies in Pakistan and the role of digital platform for its progress.
e. Advent of 5-G and its initial tests in Pakistan: clear indicators that Pakistan is ready of digital revolution.
f. Foundation laid down by government through its “Digital Vision” point toward readiness of Pakistan for digital revolution.

3. However, challenges to establishment of digital economy and e-governance cannot be ruled out

a. Presence of elite capture and proponents of status quo may render digital revolution non-inclusive.
b. Non-availability of financial resources and lack of infrastructural development may restrict the coverage and scope of digitization.

4. Conclusion

In the end I wrote two paragraphs; one covering some suggestions to tackle the challenges and other reiterating my main thesis that Pakistan is ready for digital revolution.
