Sorry to discourage but the answer is completely irrelevant to the question. What you have mentioned in the answer is generic and has nothing to do with the US Political system.

Checks and Balances in the US Political system are ingrained in their constitution where each institution of the country, i.e. Executive, Legislative and Judiciary keeps a check on each other and balances as a result. You should have cited some examples such as few Judicial review cases where legislative/executive orders were nullified by the court and the same as the case of appointment of judges by Senate etc.
