1) Make for: Head in a certain direction)

When it started raining, i decided to make for home.

I used it in sense of "to result in or make possible"

7) When I shall see her I will deliver her your gift.

I wrote "When I see her I will deliver to her your gift."
as deliver is followed by preposition "to".

My friend is very ill, i hope he won't die soon.

I wrote , My friend is very ill, i fear he will die soon.

Plz correct me if wrong.
