Wren n Martin is very comprehensive but it is a bit scary if one looks at it for the first time. I think you should better go for Oxford Practice Grammar by John Eastwood. It is very easy to understand, having almost all the things you need to know about practical grammar, as well as having exercises with every chapter to assess yourself. Answers of exercises are also given in the end. I am pretty sure it will solve your problem.
