Sentence # 5:'Different' doesn't take 'than' in BrE though it is possible in North American Verbal only. Secondly 'Where' in the last sentence seems to have been wrongly used since it does not give out a perfect sense as the sentence does not end at a question. Thus, the correct sentence should be as under:
"There was a very different atmosphere in the town this morning from 'as' was yesterday "
Remember that using 'that of yesterday' has now been equalled to using apostrophe s but it is not necessarily important in the above structure.
Sentence# 2: There is no any contraction in English such as 'Shalln't' instead we could write 'shan't' as a contraction of 'shall not'. And, we can not put a comma before 'if'. Interesting thing is that if we do not change 'shouldn't, the sentence will remain grammatically correct.
