Yes, you can use hot & cold for tea.
But the first sentence would be:"Tea is becoming colder" Because here we have the idea of comparison,i.e.Becoming (getting). For example: She is becoming prettier. (She looks prettier than the previous days. Comparison between present and previous days)

2.Tea is so hot. - Some grammarians consider it incorrect. Because so introduces "That-clause", i.e. Tea is so hot that we cannot have it.
So it should be:Tea is very hot.
