So far as i know the term nephron derived from greek words which implies the "nephrology". Nephrology is the study of funtions and diseases of the kidney. It has three functions as

Kidney excrete a variety of waste products produced by metabolism.
homeostasis
Hormone secretion

The first one is ultimate function what i have revealed in MCQs.
