Default DING DONG's Dilemma of Democracy.

Assalam Alaikum,

I was helpless once again, after reading both of your thoughts, because both of my dear friends are right. It has vast meaning and its interpretations are countless for the people who like to mold this word to their advantage. So I decided to went back to the basics and looked up the word in the dictionary, and it means:

Government by the people, exercised either directly or through elected representatives.

A political or social unit that has such a government.

The common people, considered as the primary source of political power.

Majority rule.

The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community.

So looking at these five meanings, one can easily say that democracy is something that involves consensus of the masses in its literal meaning. Therefore, giving people their basic right to voice their concerns in the form of vote, when they select their representatives and the governments are formed.

But this is only one side of the picture, that we see people around the world practicing their right and voting. So the question should be raised that if the people are electing these rulers, they should be for the people and work relentlessly for the welfare of their masses. Unfortunately, that is not the case, infact it is very opposite to that. Because one can see people voting in the third world, but no one shows the rigging that takes place in the background to get the desired results and so forth.

Because a viable democracy can only blossom, when it is backed by efficient institutions, without it you are faced with the dilemma that Pakistan is currently facing which is MIGHT IS RIGHT. Because we live in a country where the literacy rate is very low, that our masses are willing to follow even a DONKEY, who is wearing a uniform.

In short, there is no democracy in Pakistan.

Coming to the American form of democracy, to whom I practice my basic right as a citizen and vote, I see everything wrong with it. I mean the two party system in my opinion only show two sides of the box, and all the other sides are neglected, because they are not the popular approaches of the democrats and Republicans. So we end up with the people sharing the same ideologues from a long time. But I must say that whtever the flaws are, their institutions are far effective compared to Pakistan. But in my opinion, a lot of the voters who practice their basic right to vote say this, "that they are voting for a lesser evil." GO FIGURE.

In terms of American or western spreading democracy abroad is concerned, it is nothing but buch of B*** S***. Because one cannot impose democracy on others, as that may become very well a dictatorship. Therefore, the elections in IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN, are nothing more but to install American Slave Puppies as a ruler to these countries.

So, after examining all this, I think we are only left with Islamic form of democracy, which unfortunately is nowhere to be found in contemporary Islamic states. It is not possible to have Islamic diplomacy, unless one undertands the religions in its true meaning and shape their societies accordingly. But unfortunately, we have politicians who shape their policies in the red light districts of our country. UNACCEPTABLE.

Besides my role model politicians in the Islamic World are Mahatir Mohammad, and Mr. Naimat Ullah Khan, and probably the only two honest politicians left.

Thanks.
