Please stop this moral lecturing. Everyone should be remunerated according to the job and it is the right of every candidate to know what he or she is going to get paid. For your information, Fatima, I understand that the basic salary of a grade-17 officer is just over Rs. 12000 per month. With allowances it gets just over Rs. 15,000. I understand that all CBR officers (which include customs and income tax officers) are entitled to almost Rs. 15000 special CBR allowance as long as they are working in the CBR. If they go for deputation, they lose this allowance and if they return they again get it. Officers of FSP are paid their salaries in US Dollars when they are on foreign posting and they are entitled to special hardship allowance on various difficult postings like New Delhi or Kabul etc. After every three years of foreign posting, they are supposed to work in Islamabad for 3 yrs and there they receive salary equivalent to any grade-17 officer.
