The problem isn't what ISIS
IS, but what it may
BECOME. They are by far more organized than either the Taliban or the Al Qaeda, have a better propaganda machine than either, have a more efficient leader and huge amounts of modern weaponry (most of it American made) that they got from the Arabs (when these same people were fighitng Assad) or seized from the retreating Iraqi forces. Plus they have a large supply of ready money (upwards of $2 billion according to one estimate). All of this in addition to the fact that after so much turmoil, Iraq is easy prey. So their position looks to be pretty good
