Of course the reply made perfect sense and closing the thread was the right course of action to take. However, I believe the original poster couldn't convey the full message and therefore I felt I should start this new thread and convey the full message.

The confusion originally started with the following FAQ on FPSCs site.

The FAQ above suggests that the General Ability part will be subjective. However, I believe the common perception is that it will be MCQ based just like GRE and GAT.

So what exactly will the general ability part look like? How can they test mechanical and numerical reasoning, logical reasoning, quantitative problems, percentages and basic arithmetic and other basic mathematicl skills in a subjective type paper?
Your question makes sense but Maria's question was vague and ended up closing the thread.

Now for your query. Imagine you have the same question that you feel is given in MCQ type paper but you don't have answers to choose, logically it will be subjective question now, because you don't have any choice now.

So as simple as it can be, you might face same kind of questions as asked in MCQs type paper of logical reasoning and intelligence test maths but the difference will be the absence of choices that make it an MCQ.

So no matter if the length of that particular maths problem is short or long it will be subjective now.

I hope it should be clear now. Moreover, CE-16's paper will clear all of the confusion for the coming CE's aspirants.

Hope for the best and be ready to face the worst.

JazakAllah
