In this way you don't need to go to MOFA twice and you will have both MOFA attested old certificate and embassy designated hospital's new certificate.

I think going by road will take up 5 days of tiring journey and about 35k to 40k. Srilankan Airlines takes around 42k for Karachi to Beijing. PIA is taking about 62k (plus 5% service charges if you buy ticket using cash from PIA facilitation center) for Lahore/Islamabad to Beijing.

Interestingly somewhere I read that PIA offers 5% discount to students if they have proof. If they are traveling to join their respective university then admission offer letter is also acceptable.
Thanks a lot for your valuable guidance!
