If you can strictly adhere to the syllabus and have the right resources in your repertoire, then you should opt for this subject. It might take you some time to adjust to the nature of preparation that this subject might need, considering the fact that you have an engineering background. Whether or not you have an interest in the subject matters a lot more than what your academic background is.
